The First Hitachi EH4000AC-3 Trucks in Brazil
At the end of 2024, Marubeni Brasil S.A. (Mining Machinery Department) — whose mining equipment operations are now led by the newly formed joint venture, ZAMine Service Brasil — completed the delivery of the first Hitachi EH4000AC-3 rigid dump trucks in Brazil.
This milestone reinforces the joint venture’s commitment to delivering robust and efficient solutions for large-scale mining operations in the country. It also marks a strategic advancement in expanding the presence of Hitachi’s dump trucks in one of the world’s most important mining markets.
EH4000AC-3 Assembly
The equipment was assembled at the Anglo American iron ore mine in Conceição do Mato Dentro (Minas Gerais), in partnership with R&D Mineração e Construção Limitada. The entire project was carried out under the highest standards of quality and safety, with technical supervision from engineers of Hitachi Construction Machinery and Marubeni Brasil S.A.
Notably, the assembly process was completed without any recorded accidents, demonstrating a strong commitment to operational safety. In addition, a dedicated technical support team remains on site, ensuring continuous assistance and high-performance support throughout the equipment’s operation.
Integrated Hitachi Equipment
Before the arrival of the new trucks, the site was already operating a Hitachi EX2600-7 hydraulic excavator. With the assembly of the EH4000AC-3 units, the Anglo American mine now features it is first fully integrated machines of Hitachi equipment — combining excavator and haul trucks in a cohesive, high-efficiency load-and-haul system.
